WORKSHOPS: Heart Dissection – Half Term
Feb 18 – Feb 23
What does the heart do, how does it do it and why is it one of the most important organs in the body?
These totally unique workshops are perfect for children who love to get hands-on. With the help of experts from St. James’s Hospital, you will be given an animal heart and guided through a dissection to understand how it functions and the importance of a healthy diet and exercise.
Workshop times: 11am, 1pm and 3pm between Monday 18 and Friday 22 February and at 11am and 1pm on Saturday 23 February.
Cost: Normal museum admission charges apply and there is an additional charge of £3 per heart payable on arrival.
How to reserve: Please call 0113 244 4343 to reserve your place
Important information: Not all workshop spaces have been released for pre-booking. Once advance reservations are fully booked, the remaining places will be available to sign up to on arrival at the museum, on a first come, first served basis. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment. Due to space restrictions, when booking your place, we would ask that you only book one heart per group rather than one heart per child. Please note that children must be supervised by an adult. Adults may supervise up to 3 children, but we will only issue one scalpel per adult. Places cannot be held and if you have not arrived 5 minutes prior to the workshop start time, your place will be reallocated.
