1.Grab a Bucket and Get outside
Toddlers love to potter. Luckily we live near some woodland. With his little bucket he’s more than happy putting things in, taking things out, throwing the bucket….!!!! Autumn is a great time for them to play with lots of different coloured leaves for them to choose from!
2. Run a bubble bath
Most babies and toddlers love having a bath. Throw in some toys, add lots of bubbles and let them play!
3. Blow up some balloons
Let them hit it up and down, kick it… don’t tie a knot and watch their excitement when it flies away!
4. Play boats with a baby bath, laundry basket or cardboard box
Is it just my kids who love sitting inside things. One day I bought the old baby bath downstairs to put on Marketplace- and it ended up staying in the kitchen for a month because my children loved playing with it so much. My toddler just loved climbing in and out! Cardboard boxes are even better too! Doodling opportunities as well as something more active!
5. Washing Up
Fill up a washing up bowl with some pots and let them splash about in it washing up pans! Waterproofs in winter and naked in the summer (just be warned they might try to climb in!)
6. Play Hide and Seek
I use the term Hide and Seek loosely with my toddler (!!), he likes to stand behind a door and continuously stick his head out. Or I lie on the sofa with a cushion over my head. Who knew I was a comedy genius!
7. Dry Pasta
There is no boredom that dry pasta cant solve for children. Fusili and pots, spaghetti and a colander and you’re set for lots of playtime 🙂
