Advertorial blog for Nostell
We’ve picked out some of our favourite things to do at Nostell this Easter!
Easter Nature Trail
This Easter grab your trail pack from reception (£3 per pack), pop on your Easter ears and discover the 10 parts of the trail! From a colour spinning nature wheel to smelling different items, egg spoon races and welly wanging, the whole family will have lots of fun! Once you’ve completed the trail, collect your National Trust chocolate egg (alternative available)
Explore the Gardens
Oh wow, the smell of the flowers is immense (and makes for a pretty nice Spring family photo!!!). They are so beautiful! The kids love playing hide and seek around the gardens in front of the Orangery and then heading down to the lake!
Adventure in the Wooded Play Area
The adventure playground at Nostell is great for all ages! There’s a toddler playhouse with slide and bridge, balancing beams, bouncing bridges and an epic zipline!! The play area is dotted between the trees so there’s loads of space to explore and climb in the bushes too!
Get Creative in the Orangery
This Easter you can make a range of Easter crafts in the Orangery, supported by the helpful volunteers! We made an Easter chick (easy templates & instructions to follow), and there were 4 other large tables of different Easter themed activities!
Spot the Swans on the Lake
Every time we go to Nostell we have to find the swans and we love to follow their family life over the year! At the moment they are nesting, see if you can spot them but do be quiet!
Build Dens in the Woods
Head down to the woods and collect big sticks and branches that have fallen on the ground to make your own den or add to the ones already constructed in the woods!
Bike through the Family Trails
Do you know there are two family bike trails in the Parkland at Nostell? You do have to head up the hill to the Obelisk but once up there either turn left or right. I would say the left-hand side one is the easier of the too and is less steel if you have less confident biking kids.
Find the Daffodills
There are lots of daffodils in the gardens at the moment at the back of the Mansion House and if you’re lucky (maybe the end of the holidays) the bluebells should be out. We find the best spot for bluebells down over the bridge on the north side of the lake.
Take a Family Walk
Whether you head into the gardens or stick to the parkland, there are loads of paths to adventure and explore around the Nostell Estate! You can take a photo of the map by the car park but our favourite route is to go round the lake and at this time of year the magnolia trees are in flower too! There’s a good range of hardstanding paths too that are suitable for buggies and wheelchairs.
Taste something yummy in the cafe
Either a sweet treat, a warm drink or a yummy lunch, the cafe at Nostell has it covered. There’s great kids lunch boxes too and I find the soup delicious! A little warning that the queues do get a bit long at peak times as food is prepared freshly. We usually try to head in a little earlier to beat the rush!
