StandApart UK
It’s time to find your rhythm as South Asian Arts-UK and Carriageworks Theatre join forces to create the heartbeat of Leeds. Spread across three days, these fun, interactive sessions invite you to sing, dance and play in a safe, socially distanced setting.
In the first session, DRUMFUSION will introduce you to the joyful beats of Punjabi Dhol, Cajon and Djembe. Round up the whole family, mums, dads, grandparents and little ones to make some noise, move your feet and enjoy the carefree atmosphere.
The second session is all about dancing. Dr Mitul Sengupta and Jyoti Manral will teach you the steps to a new dance routine that brings together Jazz, Kathak and Contemporary moves. And the third will raise the roof as KINAARA host an epic sing-along of Punjabi and English folk songs. Choose one or do them all, it’s up to you!
StandApart Series comes to Carriageworks Theatre on Saturday 26th 11am & 2pm (Stand Apart, Dance Together), Sunday 27th June 10am (Stand Apart, Play Together) and Sunday 27th June 11am & 3pm (Stand Apart, Sing Together) 2021.
